Annie + Sydney had the most incredible home micro wedding! Annie’s parents lives in Vienna Virginia and they decided to have a wonderfully planned micro wedding with just very close friends and family.
Annie’s dress was spectacular, with a gorgeous bow/bustle on the back. It was stunning on her! She got ready in her mom’s room which was adorned with a beautiful chandelier in the center of the room. I was obsessed with trying to incorporate it in as many shots as possible! The ceilings were so high so everything looked better! I loved Annie’s preparation outfit with bows on her shoulders – very cute and feminine. They set up a long table in the foyer/living room for all their guests. It was intimate and classy, perfect for the @25 guests to enjoy a full catered and served dinner. Then they had a bar on the side covered patio and had a DJ playing songs for a bit of dancing. We did all the family pics on the front and back patios that were decorated with a Tuscany feel. The whole house oozed class. I loved that they made this day all about them – no huge fanfare, but good food, good friends – all love. They ended the evening with an environmentally friendly confetti popper exit. So cute!
Since covid, I feel like people are making celebrating weddings in all different ways. Having a micro wedding really focuses on who is important. I love how couples are really embracing what they want in a wedding, not focusing on the status quo – but doing what is best for them. From having weddings at a destination they love or having one in a family home or small restaurant, there really are lots of ways to create the perfect wedding you always dreamed of.
