Sarah & Tim, October 17, 2009
I knew that when I met with Sarah & Tim that this was going to be a special wedding. I knew about the forecast and it was not good. Rain pretty much all day – and chilly for October. They had planned an outdoor ceremony in Hollywood Maryland at Greenwell State Park, right on the water. Yes, if the weather had been perfect it would have been the ideal spot, but the weather was not good (okay maybe for ducks!) But I had a good feeling about this day – and I was right. It rained all day but it never impeded on the spirits of everyone there. This was such a loving, warm family and I was so happy to be there. I brought my assistant Barbara, (who is a rock star by the way), she held the umbrella over me and my camera while I shot all the portraits in doorways so Sarah & Tim could stay dry. There was a small house on the grounds so we made use of it’s old charm and cozy warmth. They had mason jars for people to drink out of and wildflowers on all the tables. The tent turned out to be an oasis in the middle of a wet and rainy evening. I know this is one that I will never forget! Congrats to Sarah & Tim and thanks for allowing Barbara and I to photograph your day!
