Running Hare Vineyard is tucked on a hillside in the middle of Calvert County, Maryland. When Nichole + Justin contacted me about the possibility of shooting their day I was like “yes please!” I hadn’t shot a wedding there, but had wanted to. I moved to Calvert County almost 8 years ago and love being able to do weddings closer to home. Nichole + Justin were amazing to photograph. They were head over heels in love and you could see it and feel it – It was incredible! My second shooter for the day had to cancel unexpectantly the morning of which threw me a curveball (The first time ever) – I felt awful, but jumped to work, hustled and their day went off without a hitch.. I do prefer having a second shooter but have been doing this a long time and adjusted. I make sure I get as many candids as possible and angles during important moments. Nichole + Justin were very gracious and understanding. I think their pics turned out incredible and I can’t wait to shoot there more. The Vineyards were on a hill so it makes for great shots walking through the endless tunnels of grapes. The reception area is huge! It is a great place if you have a big wedding. The exterior of the reception ballroom has a Tuscany feel with the warm tones and large chandelier on the front! I instantly knew I was going to hang a dress from that beautiful thing!! All their family and friends watched as they had their ceremony at the bottom of a hill flanked in vines. They walked up to cocktails and dinner in the main reception ballroom. If you are looking for a gorgeous spot in Calvert County to host your wedding, I highly reccomend Running Hare. Congrats to Nichole + Justin!!
